OS BEACHES

MATTHEW WILD HAWK

The newest member of Os Beaches, Wild Hawk brings the acid heart out of his guitar and sings the world into being.  He was destined to be born on the east coast and determined to leave as soon as his guitar could walk.  An ace songwriter straight from the cosmos who, along with that old coyote Mark Matos, is a founding member of the Family Folk Explosion and a leading light in San Francisco’s New, Weird American Folk scene.

JOE LEWIS

Having held down the bass duties for such Bay Area notables as Adam Stephens (Two Gallants), Foxtails Brigade and Thao Nguyen, as well as filling in with the likes of Vetiver and Michael Musika,  Joe Lewis has established himself as one of SF’s most compelling musical personalities and a fearless explorer of the other side.  He holds the seniority position in MM’s outfit and if you get out of line, he’ll let you know it.

JOE MILLER (GOLDIE ROCKS)
An Indiana boy with an Indiana smile.  Goldie Rocks came to SF with his now defunct prog-rock band, The Lovely Public.  The son of a mechanic, the only tools he learned how to use properly were a pair of drum sticks.  A born drummer known for his relentless rock ‘n’ roll energy, Goldie Rocks has been named “cutest drummer in the Mission” by his legions of teeny bopper fans every year since arriving in SF and is the de facto Pope of Dolores Park.

MARK MATOS
The son of  one of California’s most respected Portuguese radio hosts,  MM discovered Rock ‘n’ Roll and LSD at an early age, spending a decade hitchhiking on U.S. highways in search of the Old, Weird America.  Founding member of both Os Beaches and Family Folk Explosion,  MM adheres to the philosophy of “Acid Gospel”,a branch of Anarcho-Mystic-Discordianism that believes in the use of the Sacred Sacrament of Psychedelics as the primary tool on the golden road of human and social evolution. A wordy wanderer and a rock ‘n’ roll believer.

JESSE LEMME ADAMS

The number one draft pick out of Marin County, JLA grew up in the shadow of Jerry Garcia’s ghost amongst the Big Tree medicine of Northern California. He found his way to San Francisco where he crossed paths with MM at Charles Gonzalez’ fabled Radical Sound Studio and knocked him on his ass with some nasty Rock ‘n’ Roll piano trickery.  The kids got heart, he’s all art.  A talented and idiosyncratic songwriter in his own right, Lemme holds down keys for Os Beaches and is an ordained minister in the Church of the Family Folk Explosion.

ANNIE GIRL

The young and witchy star of MM’s Family Folk Explosion, Annie Girl was raised amongst wolves under the Colorado big sky before taking flight toward the coast and teaming up with the FFE in their fight for the light. Annie Girl & The Flight‘s debut album is in production at San Francisco’s legendary Studio C (the Cosmo’s Factory of CCR lore) and will be out and making waves this year.  She lends her considerable talents to Os Beaches, singing her ass off and beating on things until she hurts.  Whatever road she’s on, you can be sure it leads home.
